The RX lineup is all-new. The SUV is finally redesigned, outside and inside. The company didn’t announce details yet, but the SUV is debuting as the 2023 YM. The 2024 Lexus RX 350 should be the entry-level version. Besides the standard configuration, the lineup will also offer a hybrid and the F Sport performance-tuned package.
The fresh look is going to be eye-catching again. Even the previous version was not so outdated, thanks to the futuristic approach. Now, the new 2024 Lexus RX 350 is also ready to storm into the market. Plus, the interior is driver-oriented. Updates of the infotainment system should attract more attention. Both Lexus and Toyota are growing in this segment. Just remember – those companies weren’t using Apple CarPlay some while ago. A 14-inch screen is the center of the system and many functions can be controlled over voice commands.
The RX is also getting changes under the bonnet. As expected, a V6 engine is replaced. Now, a turbocharged four-banger is a power supplier. The old transmission is somehow a surprise. A hybrid version is saving fuel.
2024 Lexus RX 350 New Look
It hasn’t been too long between the presentation of the new concept and the production vehicle. Lexus is not wasting time, and the new SUV should be attractive for the foreseeable future. A sleeker design makes the appearance more aggressive. Still, like in the previous versions, some people will dislike the fresh styling. The spindle grille is definitely becoming the iconic detail. Other highlights are jewel-shaped headlights and LED taillamps.
On the other hand, it is hard to argue about the new interior. The cabin is intuitive thanks to the upgraded interface. At the center of the dashboard sits a 14-inch touchscreen. Plus, the 2024 Lexus RX 350 is going to be more comfortable than ever, as well as more luxurious, especially if you upgrade it with the F Sport package.
Interior and Infotainment System
The exterior is there to draw attention, and the interior of the 2024 Lexus RX 350 is definitely the stunning part of the redesign. The focus is on details and comfort. Supportive seats will make longer trips more convenient. Plus, the company has been working on safety as well. The digital latch with a safe exit assist system lets you open the doors only when the conditions are safe. Also, there is pre-collision support added to the list of equipment.
Still, the highlight is the new infotainment system. the interface is intuitive and smarter than ever. Voice controls are doing most of the job. Navigation is updating the road conditions in real-time. Also, drivers can create a profile with their own personalization. The center of the entertaining system is a 14-inch screen. Upper trim levels come with the Mark Levinson sound and advanced PurePlay surround system.
Under the Hood, Direct4, Hybrid
Changes in the engine room were not a surprise. For some while, Toyota is replacing big units with smaller displacements. It happened to the Highlander, Tundra truck, and now the 2024 Lexus RX 350. So, an old 3.5-liter V6 is not available anymore. The new engine is a 2.4-liter turbo-four with 275 horsepower. The engine also creates 315 lb-ft of torque, according to the first projections. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front axle.
The all-new all-wheel drive is also there. Lexus calls it Direct4. However, it is available only for the F Sport model. Besides the upgraded AWD, the high-end version will also feature a more potent configuration. The RX 500 comes with 365 hp and 400 lb-ft, making it more competitive in the market. A hybrid system is still there. A 2.5-liter petrol engine is under the hood and the total output is 245 hp. Experts suspected that the company is going to downpower the RX 450h from 310 horsepower, but that just happened. The RX 500 F Sport will have even more upgrades, including those for the suspension, braking, and overall look. Drive modes are available all across the lineup.
2024 Lexus RX 500h Performance
The new vehicle is already drawing a lot of attention. The company upgrades the lineup with the top-of-the-range version that combines a turbo-four engine with a hybrid system. The total is 366 horsepower for the fastest RX SUV in the lineup. Engineers are using a 2.4-liter mill as the base, and enhance its performances with electric motors. Besides that, they installed a new Direct4 all-wheel drive system. Furthermore, there is a six-speed transmission box to replace the CVT, available in the rest of the squad.
The upgrade is cool, but it doesn’t make the 2024 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance a sports SUV. Its rivals produced by German carmakers can do more power, sometimes above 500 hp. So, a 366 horsepower rating is not something breathtaking. But, a small enhancement in combination with F Sport package could do the job and draw more buyers. The MSRP of the new version sits at the top of the price list with a $58,000 tag.
When Will 2024 Lexus RX 350 Be Available?
The redesigned SUV should be available for purchase late in 2022. We still don’t know which models are coming in the first wave. We know that the 2024 Lexus RX 350, 450h hybrid, and 500 F Sport are going to be parts of the lineup for sure. But, the order of appearance is still unknown. Fans will have to wait for a few more months to find out the details.
The price of the upcoming luxury SUV goes up. The base model won’t be under $50,000. The performance edition could be priced around $70,000, making it competitive with the German luxury SUVs. The RX might drop the third row for good, making the room for the new project – the Lexus TX.
