It is obvious the new generation of the LX is on the way. The luxury SUV is ready to take on the rest of the segment with a fresh look, efficient drivetrains, and a new nameplate. But, the 2023 Lexus LX 570 could have one more run if Toyota’s premium section doesn’t deliver the SUV on time. The LX 600 is the future of the franchise and the flagship model. So, the LX 570 will be unchanged if we see it again in 2023.

Toyota faced tough times in the full-size luxury SUV segment. Their two vehicles did not sell well. Cadillac and Lincoln were a few steps away from Escalade and Navigator. Now, there is another premium vehicle in the game – Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Nevertheless, the Japanese company decided it is time for radical moves. Both Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX are heading to new chapters.

The legendary nameplate, which has been around for 80 years, will be dismissed in the United States. And fans will be furious, especially with the next-gen Land Cruiser Series 300 being confirmed. On the other hand, the LX 600 is about to replace the LX 570. It is only a matter of time before it will be official.

No New Options

The full-size luxury SUV is still a pretty exciting vehicle. It is available with two or three rows of seats. Also, many advanced features are installed in the cockpit to provide the maximum joy of the ride. The third row is pretty comfortable. The2023 Lexus LX 570 will be 197 inches long with a cargo space of 16 cubic feet behind the rear row, or 81 cubic feet when the second and third row is folded. Two-Row and Three-Row models are trim levels for the LX 570 and AWD is standard.

The number in the nameplate indicates the engine displacement. A 5.7-liter V8 unit was standard for all big rigs in Toyota’s family. But, it is about to be changed. Still, the 2023 Lexus LX 570 will use the 5.7-l engine. When the LX 600 enters the market, it will be replaced with the I-Force Max twin-turbo V6 setup. You can get 380 hp and 400 lb-ft from a V8 plant. The gas mileage is the main reason for the replacement. Buyers who spend $85,000 for the ride don’t care about the consumption and gas price. But, frequent refuels are more than annoying.

LX 600 and Toyota Land Cruiser 300

The fourth generation of the LX SUV is already presented. However, we saw only a model for Europe, called LX 500d. The vehicle is based on the J300 concept and we’ll see it in the US as the LX 600. The Japanese company seems to follow the order of appearance according to the order of rumors and info they were releasing. For example, we learned that the manufacturer is working on a new engine, called I-Force.

This one is already available for the 2022 Toyota Tundra truck. After that, speculations about the LX 600 were out. Now it is obvious that the new model is on the way. The 2023 Lexus LX 570 would be based on the outdated J200 architecture. Even before all those rumors, fans were calling for the Land Cruiser 300. However, those stories had no foundation. After the release of the new Tundra and the LX 600 on the way, it is hard to believe that the Land Cruiser is going to stick to the old and thirsty V8 engine.

Besides the new look, the I-Force engine is in common for those big rigs. It is a V6 turbo unit with a lot of potentials. The base version is under the bonnet of Tundra pickup with 440 hp. But, luxury SUVs are going to use the I-Force Max with 490 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. This is quite an improvement, that will settle the LX above the Lincoln Navigator. As the matter of fact, this is something we rarely see, unless it comes from some premium European carmaker, such as Range Rover, BMW, or Mercedes-Benz. Of course, the price is going to bump, just like the power outputs.

With all the stuff being the same as before, we don’t expect a price increase of the 2023 Lexus LX 570. The base version is a Two-Row model and the MSRP is $87,000. All-wheel drive is standard, and the third row is going to cost you $5,000. Luxury and Sport packages are optional.

The 2023 Lexus LX 570 is not so likely to happen. We are in 2022 and the actual version is still 2021 YM, while in Europe, the LX based on the J300 platform is out. A huge delay could make the LX 570 available through 2023, but it doesn’t seem like realistic option.
