The 2023 luxury full-size SUVs lineup will be pretty much the same as the squad for the previous seasons. But, the old nameplates are going to introduce some changes to beat the competition. Well, in this segment, every detail counts, especially with a few new models coming up soon.

The best-sellers in this class were models made by the US companies – Lincoln Aviator and Cadillac Escalade. Now, the FCA is joining the race. Of course, Japanese carmakers are not letting it go, and both Toyota and Nissan are ready to bring the next generations of its luxury SUVs. Finally, European manufacturers are well-known for their quality and upscale models. No doubts those vehicles are going to draw a lot of attention as well.

Let’s check which models we will see as the 2023 Luxury Full-Size SUVs, and what to expect from each of them.

2023 Luxury Full-Size SUVs

2023 Cadillac Escalade

Let’s start with the best-seller and the legendary SUV. It was redesigned recently, so there are no surprises why it leads the sales charts. Not only that Escalade belongs to the 2023 luxury full-size SUVs, but it might be the best one. But, we won’t rank them in this review.

Here are a few reasons why you should buy the 2023 Cadillac Escalade. First of all, it is one of the most spacious models in the 2023 luxury full-size SUVs segment. That is not all, since you can even expand the cabin if you buy Escalade ESV with a long wheelbase. The cockpit is modern and offers advanced technologies. If we have to take one, that would be the Super Cruise drive system with some really helpful driver-assistance equipment.

On the other hand, the premium feeling at the back seats is not at the same level as with some other models in this segment. We don’t expect too much from the 2023 Cadillac Escalade and its huge V8 engine, but the gas mileage is really poor. Buyers paying $80,000 and more for the SUV won’t mind, but 16 mpg means frequent visits to gas stations.

2023 Lincoln Navigator

Escalade’s archrival. General Motors and Ford are bringing the competition to the 2023 luxury full-size SUVs class as well. We can say that the 2023 Lincoln Navigator is at the same level as its main competitor, and only details will make you pick either one.

Again, we have a similar offer with the classic and extended chassis (Navigator L). The technology is really easy to use. Compared to the Escalade, the Navigator is using a V6 engine. With the help of a twin-turbo system, it will deliver 450 hp and 510 lb-ft. We can’t wait to see if the 2023 Lincoln Navigator is getting a mighty PHEV system, like its smaller brother, Aviator. The list of the extra equipment is really long.

The downsides of the luxury SUV are weak off-road capabilities and the price of the optional features. For example, the Black Label packages will make the SUV swim into a six-digit price realm. Although a V6, the engine consumes a lot of fuel. Maneuvering could be better as well, no matter the size.

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer release date

2023 Jeep Wagoneer

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are there to beat both abovementioned US luxury SUVs. FCA has big ambitions, and this is another example of their intentions. We knew the SUV is coming as a full-size model, but the company surprised us by making it a luxury version.

The best thing about the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer is the fresh styling. It will draw a lot of attention. If it was just a bigger Grand Cherokee, fans wouldn’t be so curious. Of course, the FCA deploys the 6.4-liter V8 engine with 470 horsepower. The SUV beats the Navigator and it is now the best hauler in the segment, with 11,000 lbs. Plus, the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be great choices for off-road adventures.

The price of the SUV is going to be a stumbling block. The MSRP starts at $88,000, which is significantly higher than for most other vehicles in the 2023 luxury full-size SUVs market. A diesel engine is not available, as well as the hybrid system. The most disappointing thing is probably the lack of the Hellcat engine. And finally, there is a question about reliability. Yes, we saw other Jeeps being durable, but this is a new world for the company.

2023 Toyota Land Cruiser

The 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser is introducing the new generation. The Series 300 is finally coming… but it might not be available in the US!

This is a huge blow for fans. The current generation of the legendary SUV is more than 15 years old. They were waiting for the complete update, and now there is a possibility not to see the all-new Land Cruiser 300. It is hard to speak about all the good things the SUV is bringing. So, if Toyota decides to do this and discontinue the LC for the US market, it will be the biggest disappointment.

But, the company didn’t confirm that yet, and we believe in the new model. There are no doubts it will become one of the best 2023 luxury full-size SUVs. In past few seasons, the sales were dropping. Well, the Land Cruiser was a vehicle from 2000s. Now, the redesign brings a new look, outside and inside. Series 300 are coming with the new I-Force Max powertrain. A V6 engine replaces an old and thirsty V8. The price is not announced yet, but you won’t be happy when you see it. Some say the 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser might start above $100,000.

2023 Toyota Land Cruiser

2023 Lexus LX 600

One of the reasons why the Land Cruiser might leave the US market is the arrival of the all-new 2023 Lexus LX 600. Basically, those are very similar vehicles, with the same mechanical features. Only the styling can determine the sides you choose. The company filed for the registration of the LX 600 brand, which is about to replace the LX 570.

The 2023 Lexus LX 600 will come with the I-Force engine and 390 horsepower in the base form. But, the company might skip it and deliver the I-Force Max, with 90 ponies more. Of course, this is going to affect the price. The main reason for the replacement is the poor gas mileage of the 5.7-liter V8. Experts are wondering if the company is going to keep off-road capabilities, both for LX and Toyota Land Cruiser. If the answer is yes, both SUVs will dominate the market.

2023 Infiniti QX80

Japanese companies are going strong into the new season. Nissan already started the redesign of its entire portfolio. The 2023 Infiniti QX80 will be an all-new vehicle, which is a reason to wait for it eagerly.

The Monograph concept is drawing attention ever since the premiere. It already showed flashes on the mid-size QX60. But, it will shine on the 2023 Infiniti QX80. The full-size luxury SUV is ready to take it to the next level with futuristic design of the cockpit, with mostly everything digitalized. Huge touchscreens cover the dash. As the big rig, you won’t have to be worried about the head- and legroom.

But, the concept was futuristic, and experts question if the boxy styling is aesthetic. Plus, the weight might go up compared to the current model, harming the gas mileage and maneuvering, which are already big downsides. Nissan might respond in a similar manner as Toyota – by adding a high-output V6 engine instead of a V8.

2023 Mercedes GLS

Germans are a synonym for luxury. It is hard to keep pace with companies coming from this European country. And Mercedes-Benz is leading the way.

The GLS is the largest SUV in the lineup. The reliability and premium feel are almost impossible to match. When the carmaker adds a little bit of Maybach style, then there is no rival luxurious enough to call itself a competitor. But, you will have to pay $200k for the 2023 Mercedes GLS Maybach. A lighter variant, but still expensive is the AMG with more than 600 horsepower. Still, we are happy with the base SUV equipped with a V8. A 3.0-liter V6 is the entry-level model, but it makes other vehicles being more serious than Mercedes.

2023 BMW X7

The Bavarian manufacturer is ready to take on its archrival. Audi is not producing the vehicle for this segment yet. The 2023 BMA X7 is one of the SUVs that might draw a lot of attention. The price is a bit more reasonable than the one you might pay for the Mercedes. To be honest, it is still very high for models with a V8. A six-cylinder engine is making the BMW X7 look silly compared to other 2023 luxury full-size SUVs.

The M model is under the spotlight at the moment. Well, the company teamed up with Alpina and the version is called the XB7, but we believe it is a marketing trick to draw more attention. The price will do it as well. The base configuration is under $80,000, a V8 will add more than $100,000, and the XB7 can easily reach $150,000.

2023 Range Rover

The final member of the 2023 luxury full-size SUVs class is the Land Rover Range Rover. The JLR is the only British carmaker that makes such a model, although it is not the most luxurious.

The 2023 Range Rover will offer a lot of options. The base configuration is using a small six-pot engine. A plug-in hybrid is also available, which is a rare occasion for a big rig. Finally, things are getting serious at the high end, especially when the V8 becomes available. A 5.0-liter unit is able to burst a lot of power. In addition, the SVAutobiography package makes everything look too good.

Like with all other British carmakers, luxury has a high price. In the case of the Range Rover, even the entry-level model is too expensive ($94,000), especially having in mind it comes with a six-pot engine. A V8 is a $20k investment, while the SVAutobiography versions are not under $180,000, and the most expensive version, LWB, costs $215,000.
