The 2024 Mercedes GLE might be the most interesting model in the near future. The mid-cycle update is about to bring some cool upgrades and features. We expect more powerful AMG versions, as well as hybrid versions with better electric support. Even the all-electric mid-size luxury SUV is not impossible. There is a lot of time for its development and if anyone can pull it out, that is Mercedes.
It is hard to compete with the luxury the German carmaker is offering. There are plenty of advanced options to justify the high price. The most exclusive versions will have a six-digit tag. Well, the high-output configurations can deliver impressive outputs. Hybrid models are fixing the gas mileage. The third row is optional. If you don’t need it and want a better-looking SUV, the 2024 Mercedes GLE Coupe is the right choice.
The interior is comfortable. The third row is not too generous with the legroom. The coupe version doesn’t offer this option and the cargo space is limited. Nevertheless, there is enough room for two rows. The MBUX infotainment is one of the best in the market. If there is a downside of the luxury SUV, that would be the price. The MSRP starts from $57,000.
GLE 350 and GLE 450
This price might not seem too high. But, the trick is the entry-level engine configuration. Mercedes installs a 2.0-liter turbo-four, and that is not something we want to see under the bonnet of the mid-size luxury SUV. The vehicle definitely needs more than 255 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. Such outputs are not going to impress buyers of non-premium vehicles of this size.
So, the 2024 Mercedes GLE 450 is there to improve the image. A 3.0-liter turbo-six comes in the combo with the EQ Boost system. Also, the 4Matic AWD is standard and the engine is even more efficient in the city drive than the turbo-four. This inline-six can produce 362 horsepower and 370 pound-feet of torque. The gas mileage is not bad. The GLE 450 returns 23 mpg combined.
2024 Mercedes GLE 580 Hybrid
The GLLE 580 is a hybrid version of the SUV with extra power. This time, a V8 engine makes the vehicle more potent. Again, the EQ Boost is there to increase the outputs to 483 hp. With this output, the 0-60 mph acceleration drops to 4.5 seconds. On the other hand, the price bumps and you will have to spend at least $80,000 for the GLE 580. Adaptive suspension handles the power, and the look is more aggressive thanks to unique 20-inch wheels.
AMG Lineup: GLE 53 and GLE 63 S
The best versions of the SUV are under the AMG badge. There are two versions of the high-end package. You can choose between an enhanced I6 engine or a mighty V8. The first one is the 2024 Mercedes AMG GLE 53. A 3.0-liter inline-six gets to 430 hp. AMG interior and exterior details are added. Compared to the rest of the lineup, this model also adds power outlets and Burmester audio system.
The 2024 Mercedes GLE AMG is there with 603 horsepower. A 4.0-liter V8 engine is enhanced with a twin-turbo system. The SUV needs less than 3.5 seconds to hit 60 mph. If you pick the coupe, thanks to the better aerodynamics, the GLE is even faster. An electronic limited-slip differential is the difference compared to the AMG 53, and the top of the class model also comes with 21-inch wheels and special buckets.
2024 Mercedes GLE Coupe
The previous versions of the GLE SUV offered the coupe model and very similar options to the standard vehicle. The latest update eliminated all but AMG packages. The redesign will refresh the 2024 Mercedes GLE Coupe and the entire offer. Yes, the styling fits perfectly to the AMG, but we would like to see a more affordable version. Currently, the pricing starts at $80,000 for the I6 engine. If you want the V8, then be ready to splash around $120,000. The Coupe layout doesn’t offer the third row, which is also optional for the standard body. The GLE competes with the BMW X5, while the sloped roof and the coupe styling are going against the X6.
2024 Mercedes GLE Interior
Besides the eye-catching exterior all across the lineup, the cabin is definitely something that can stun fans. Plenty of advanced options are there, even at the base trim levels. The list of features is very long. A set of 19-inch wheels can be replaced with larger rims. Power-adjustable front seats are standard, as well as the keyless entry. The power liftgate gets a hands-free function at higher trims.
The MBUX infotainment is something special. The centerpiece is a 12-inch display. With a huge instrument panel, the dash looks very futuristic. Some features that are optional on most other vehicles are standard with the 2024 Mercedes GLE.
