105 0

The 2022 YM was revisited, so the styling of the 2024 Acura RDX will be the same. There is no need for changes so soon. Well, there is always room for some modifications, but not some big and significant. On the other hand, upgrades of the current edition are more interesting. After the comeback of the Type S, fans want their favorite vehicles to get this package. Also, there are rumors about the hybrid drivetrain, and eventually, an EV based on the ADX concept.

Anyway, the 2024 Acura RDX will be a funky and attractive premium crossover. You might not like the price at the first sight, but getting into the features list will make it justified. The base model starts above $41,000, which is too high for compact SUVs. But, under the hood of the small crossover is a potent 4-cylinder unit with 270 hp. A favorite upgrade is the A-Spec bundle. The RDX also features the Acura Watch safety system.

Grades and Accessories

The crossover actually comes in a single trim level and you are adding packages to this offer. But, every higher grade keeps the best features of the previous one. So, we can say that Technology, A-Spec and Advance are the trims for the 2024 Acura RDX.

Of course, it all starts with the Base configuration. The premium SUV is getting 19-inch wheels, panoramic sunroof, keyless ignition, and heated front seats to justify the price. Then, the entry-level grade also includes simulated leather seats, 10-inch infotainment with a 9-speaker audio system, and Wi-Fi hotspot.

The Technology package adds premium leather upholstery and navigation. Also, this model is quieter thanks to the isolated front windows. You will notice a charging pad on the dashboard and the audio system is getting a boost with extra speakers. Parking sensors are added as well.

The 2024 Acura RDX A-Spec takes all the previous options and adds larger wheels, fog lights and ventilated front buckets. The audio system now comes with 16 speakers. Also, the overall look is sportier thanks to several details around the body and inside the cockpit.

The best options are available for the RDX Advance model. The ride gets a boost thanks to the adaptive suspension dampers. Highlights of this grade are remote ignition, power-folding mirrors, wood interior trim, HUD, 360-degree camera… You can also combine the Advance package with the A-Spec features.

Specs and Performance

Under the bonnet of the 2024 Acura RDX is a 2.0-liter engine. But, don’t give up so soon. Thanks to the turbochargers, it can deliver 270 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Power goes through a 10-speed automatic gearbox to the front axle. You can also take the AWD as the optional upgrade and we recommend the Super-Handling system. The engine needs premium fuel for the best performance. In that case, the RDX sprints 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.

2024 Acura RDX Type S

The hottest rumor out there is about the 2024 Acura RDX Type S. Well, the badge is back, and now get used to the speculations about the expansion of the lineup. TLX sedan and MDX SUV already offer a package centered around a boosted engine. Opinions about RDX Type S are divided. Many experts believe the compact crossover doesn’t need such an upgrade. On the other hand, those who always seek better performance will always say yes. Acura can catch up with class leaders in this segment, such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.

2024 Acura RDX Hybrid

Maybe a more important engine upgrade should be the 2024 Acura RDX Hybrid with a more efficient ride. Currently, the crossover returns 24/25 mpg with front-wheel drive, and the number drops to 23 miles per gallon if the AWD is on. Yes, the RDX throws out 270 horsepower. A hybrid system can help it get to 30 mpg and keep the eye-catching numbers, exceptional performance and crispy acceleration. The electric support could even add extra power.

2024 Acura RDX Price

The vehicle is coming unchanged, so there is no need to put some extra value. The Base version already shows a hefty price, starting from $41,500. The Technology package adds $2,500 and the A-Spec is another $3k investment. The crossover with the Advance grade is already above $50,000 and the Advance/A-Spec combo makes it to $55k.

While the pricing of the standard lineup stays put, we expect news about the Type S and hybrid models. Everything depends on the equipment those versions are going to use. The RDX Type S won’t be under $60,000, that is for sure. For the hybrid version, the price depends mostly on the battery size. The company dropped such a setup for the MDX, but it should be back soon. On the other hand, the compact RDX crossover can dominate the segment with exceptional power and fuel economy numbers.
