After the truck, General Motors will launch the 2023 GMC Hummer SUV. The first electric pickup is already a stunning project. But, the GM made it even more interesting with some breathtaking features, such as Crab Walk or Extract Mode. Two vehicles will share the platform and the most notable change will be the body. Of course, a few more updates will make them different.

The release date of the 2023 GMC Hummer SUV is going to be announced after the debut of the truck. So, we will know more about it in a year. When the electric pickup shows up, fans are going to find out what exactly to expect from the SUV regarding the performance and prices.

Well, the Hummer SUV is not official yet. However, insiders are reporting that the company is converting the truck’s body. On the other hand, the EUT seems like a big project and somehow far-fetched, with all the options we could see. Definitely, the base versions are not going to be heavily loaded with advanced features.

Expectations

Everything about the new Hummer is still fresh. We need a lot of exploration to find out what is GM up to. It wouldn’t be the first time we see an interesting concept, but the production never happens. Just take a look at Rivian and their SUV and truck. Experts called it a treat to Tesla, but it looks like we’ll never see R1S and R1T on the streets. Well, General Motors is not a startup project, but electric vehicles are a growing market. Those systems are still expensive, meaning the products are coming with hefty prices and high maintenance costs. There are a lot of pros and cons, but GM made it clear: “Our electric future is now”. The 2023 GMC Hummer SUV is not the only EV we should see in the foreseeable future. There are Chevy Bolt and Cadillac Lyriq as well being officially announced.

What We Know So Far?

The SUV is not going to be too lighter than the truck. The weight is going to exceed 9,000 pounds. Such a rig needs a lot of power and torque. Of course, since it is an EV, it needs a decent range. There will be several versions. GM announced the first-edition range of 350 miles. A three-motor setup will be good for 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft. Well, converted to the real-life outputs, that won’t be so high, but it will be still impressive. Experts believe the torque is going to be around 800 lb-ft. Towing capacity is important for the truck, but the SUV is going to be an excellent hauler as well. Besides the high-end configuration, General Motors will definitely deliver the 2023 GMC Hummer SUV with a single- and double-motor setup and less power.

2023 GMC Hummer SUV Styling

Again, the 2023 GMC Hummer SUV will be inspired by the close sibling. On the other hand, General Motors showed off when they presented the concept. So, don’t expect everything to be the same. But, large touchscreen displays are cool. Advanced features are coming at higher trim levels. UltraVision camera system will show what is under the body. SuperCruise is going to elevate to higher levels of autonomous drive. From the outside, the Hummer heritage is something you won’t miss. This time, it is modernized. However, the truck kept a front fascia that will remind fans of the classic model with a conventional engine.

2023 GMC Hummer SUV Price

We expect to see the EUT starting at $80,000 with the single-engine setup. Each next grade adds around $10k. The First Edition is going to cost more than $110,000. That is a hefty price and Tesla Model X was criticized. Now, the company delivers way cheaper Model Y. To be competitive, the 2023 GMC Hummer SUV will have to settle lower than the pickup.
