However, a V6 remains under the hood as the only drivetrain option. To be more competitive, the upcoming model needs to offer something else. A hybrid is possible and some experts mention a V8. Still, Nissan is reportedly dropping a 5.6-liter mill from the fleet.
Besides the new drivetrain, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder could also offer a few more color options and optional packages. S, SV, SL and Platinum are the standard trim levels. The Rock Creek is an interesting addon. But, this might be a limited edition available only for the 2023 season. The following model is about to introduce something else, also as special as the Rock Creek package. For example, the Pro-4X is something buyers would like to see. A performance-oriented Nismo package is unlikely to happen.
Engine Specs and Towing Capacity
A 3.5-liter V6 is something we expect from a mid-size three-row SUV. It doesn’t produce too much power, but still enough to make the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder run smoothly. One of the biggest advantages of the system is the towing capacity. The Pathfinder can haul 6,000 pounds, while most of its rivals can do only 5,000 lbs (unless they are using a V8 engine). Such a setup could end up as a performance-oriented Nismo model.
Colors, Rock Creek Package, and Other Options
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder is keeping most of the options from its predecessor. We are sure that the standard lineup is coming back. The S is the entry-level trim. A few changes are going to refresh the offer. The bundle includes 18-inch wheels, LED lamps, 3-zone climate control, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration. The SV upgrades the offer with the remote start, heated seats, and adaptive cruise control. Also, more optional upgrades are going to be available.
The SL might be considered as the upper trim level thanks to larger wheels, leather interior, and a few other advanced systems. For example, the max towing package can allow you to bring the hauling potential to 6,000 pounds. Also, Bose premium audio can offer 13 speakers. The Platinum package adds all the premium options Nissan can offer. The Rock Creek model is confirmed for the 2023 season. The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder needs an off-road version, so it can remain a part of the lineup.
Five paintjobs are available for the entry-level package. Those are Deep Ocean Blue Pearl, Super Black, Glacier White, Brilliant Silver Metallic, and Gun Metallic. The SV adds Brilliant Silver Metallic and Pearl White TriCoat. The SL offers more options. For example, there are Mocha Almond Pearl and Obsidian Green Pearl, as well as a combination of two-tone paintjobs. The Boulder Gray Pearl is a unique color for the 2024 Pathfinder Platinum.
2024 Nissan Pathfinder Price
The MSRP of the new SUV stays at the same level for the base configuration. With a 2WD, the price is just under $35,000. All-wheel drive costs $1,900 on all packages. The Platinum package hits $50k. An off-road version will be at a similar level, no matter if it is going to be the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek or the Pro-4X. The SUV is not coming out in the next 12 months for sure. Look for the new Pathfinder late in 2023.
