741 0

After a few small changes, the 2023 Audi Q8 could finally bring a new look. The vehicle was introduced in 2018. In 2020, the German company launched a couple of novelties – performance RS and SQ8 model, as well as the e-quattro. However, not all the configurations are available in the US. The redesign will change the look, while the drivetrain lineup stays the same. In the United States, we won’t see diesel units. The fastest model is the RS Q8. After the facelift, we expect the 2023 YM to get closer to 3.5 sec when accelerating 0-60 mph.

The 2023 Audi Q8 should be a flagship model that will bring all the advanced features the company wants to use in other vehicles. The SUV belongs to the mid-size class. However, it was slightly smaller than the Q7. The new version could be 200 inches long. Audi also owns the Q9 nameplate, but there are no rumors about the release date of this SUV. There are a few other vacant spots, and the first one to be filled is the Q4. It will also start a new chapter with the electric unit. In the foreseeable future, more SUVs are going to use the E-Tron technology.

Engines and Specs, Hybrids and Diesels

For the US market, the 2023 Audi Q8 is going to use a 3.0-liter engine with 340 horsepower. Quattro all-wheel drive is standard and axles are getting power through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level version is big and heavy, but it still manages to sprint 0-60 mph in 5.5 seconds thanks to 370 lb-ft of torque.

The Q8 55 TFSI e is a hybrid system that combines a V6 engine with an electric motor. It delivers 375 horsepower and improves the gas mileage. An upper-scale hybrid is the 60 TFSI e with 450 horsepower.

Diesel engines are not coming to the US. But, let’s check what we are missing. A 3.0-l V6 is the base model and it provides 230-280 hp, depending on the configuration. Torque is between 370 and 445 lb-ft. There is also the SQ8 model with an oil burner. In this case, the SUV gains 430 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. Compared to the petrol setup, this one needs 2 more seconds to accelerate to 60 mph.

2023 Audi RS Q8 and SQ8

The 2023 Audi SQ8 steps up with a 4.0-liter V8 engine. A larger plant is good for 500 horsepower, which also improves overall performance. This configuration will sprint to 60 mph in just 4 seconds. But, it is also very thirsty, returning 18 mpg combined. It is still better than the RS Q8 with 16 mpg. In return, buyers are getting 590 hp and 590 lb-ft. For the new season, the RS tuning might deliver even higher outputs, making the SUV stop the clock at 3.5 sec before it hits 60 mph.

2023 Audi Q8 Facelift Details

Definitely, it is time for changes. That is why we can hear rumors about the redesign of the 2023 Audi Q8. Current styling is getting old and after five seasons, it is the perfect time for the first facelift. Small exterior updates will do the first impression. However, fans expect more inside the cockpit. If the Q8 becomes bigger, it can solve one of the major issues – the lack of cargo area. Still, the SUV’s design is not promising too much. The focus will be on the features and infotainment system. Well, the Q8 doesn’t lack too many of the most advanced options, but those need updates every now and then.
