The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is an all-new model with fresh body styling and cabin. A 2.0 and 2.5 engines are already confirmed. We also expect a hybrid unit to be added. Engineers are working on improvements to make the Crosstrek more competitive. The pricing starts from $25,000, 4WD is standard, like with every Subaru, and the best package is the Wilderness. There are also Base, Premium, Sport and Limited trims.
The company tried to fix issues from the previous crossover. A 2.0-liter is delivering the same amount of power and torque, so we doubt engineers might do something about the sluggish acceleration. Still, a 2.5-liter Boxer engine is a cool upgrade. This powertrain is well-known for a lower center of gravity, but unlike other Subbies, the Crosstrek didn’t make the driving impression so special. Now, there are more small storage departments inside the cabin.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Specs, Hybrid Update
Under the bonnet of the crossover is a flat-four engine, popular Boxer. The main advantage of this powerplant is a low center of gravity, which makes a ride special for every Subaru. Plus, a 4WD is standard. Nevertheless, it is hard to make it up for a low power output – the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek delivers only 152 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. A CVT is improved, so the new model returns better gas mileage.
The optional drivetrain makes drive more interesting. It is a 2.5-liter engine, also flat-four. This time, Engineers tune it to crack 182 hp and 178 lb-ft. Again, no changes compared to the previous version. Fuel economy should be better as well and acceleration crispier.
Hybrid crossovers are taking over the market from classic configurations. According to our sources, the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek hybrid is coming out next year with better numbers than before. This time, the mileage should top 40 mpg, and the electric range is going to cover 20+ miles.
2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness and Other Grades, Colors
Wilderness is a new package available for some Subaru vehicles, including Forester and Outback crossovers. One of them is now a compact Crosstrek. The upgrade makes the crossover more capable of off-road driving. Still, this is the most expensive version. Even the Base package is not bad for tough terrains with 8.7-inch ground clearance and 4WD. A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while higher trims come with an 11-inch display. Unfortunately, a manual gearbox is unavailable for the 2024 YM.
Nine different paintjobs are the palette for the Base version. These are Crystal Black Silica and Pure Red, followed by metallic colors – Ice Silver, Magnetite Gray, and Offshore Blue, and a few pearl paints – Sun Blaze, Crystal White, Horizon Blue and Sapphire Blue. The interior is gray. Sport package adds Alpine Green and the unique color for Limited is Lithium Red Pearl.
The MSRP of the Base version is just under $25,000. Premium adds $1,200 in features and for $29k you can buy the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Sport. Limited is priced at $31,000, just a grand under the Wilderness. With optional upgrades, the price will easily reach $35,000.
