2024 Nissan Rogue to Introduce the Nismo Package

64 0

Some sources claim that the 2024 Nissan Rogue Nismo is coming as the unique upgrade for the next season. Well, that will be enough, since the styling is fresh, and only recently, the company added the turbo 3-cylinder engine for its best-selling crossover. It didn’t improve sales yet. Last year was slower in the automotive market. In 2024, we expect the blast.

Fans want more options for the 2024 Nissan Rogue. If we compare it to other compact crossovers, there are a lot of things that should be improved. The new engine is efficient, but it is still far away from the class-leading gas mileage outputs. What’s more, the company offers generic trim levels. There is no excitement about unique upgrades. The Rogue Nismo could change that, but the rest of the lineup is pretty boring. Do not think about the Rogue Sport, since it is a smaller model that only carries a similar name.

Anyway, high sales are not accidentally there. The reliability and resale value are appreciated among buyers. But, there is a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately, we will wait for the mid-cycle refresh, probably on the 2025 YM.

2024 Nissan Rogue Specs, Hybrid

Under the hood of the 2024 Nissan Rogue is a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with three cylinders. The company replaced an old 4-pot mill to achieve better outputs. The engine is around here for some while, so we can’t call it ‘new’ anymore. It puts out 201 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque. That is above average for the compact segment. Plus, the crossover can return 31/38 mpg. Again, for a petrol engine, this is a more than efficient return. Well, with various upgrades, the rate drops to 31 mpg combined. Another cool thing is that a turbo engine does not require premium gas for maximum outputs.

Still, leaving the Rogue with a single option is bad. Main rivals, Honda CR-V, Toyota Rav4 and Ford Escape, all offer a hybrid system as the alternative. Those are crossovers that will return 40+ mpg. Other companies are also making hybrids – Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Mitsubishi Outlander… Nissan was the leader in this segment, but the company dropped hybrid setups for Rogue and Murano crossover SUVs. We heard the Japanese manufacturer is looking to build new systems, more powerful and efficient that any existing configuration. But, will that happen in 2024?

Models and Accessories

The company expanded the lineup with the Midnight edition. We expect it back for the 2024 Nissan Rogue. Other grades are somehow standard. The base one is the Rogue S. it won’t impress you with advanced features and accessories, and the price is a bit higher compared to some rivals in the entry-level package. We can mention an 8-inch touchscreen, a couple of USB ports and dark-tinted privacy glass as the highlights of the S trim. The safety package is called Safety Shield 360.

The Rogue SV adds way better equipment, especially knowing it costs less than $2,000 higher. For example, larger 18-inch wheels and heated outside mirrors would cost $500-$600. Then, Nissan added keyless entry, exta USB ports for rear seats, dual-zone climate, NissanConnect services and extra speakers for the sound system. Adaptive cruise control and lane keep are added to the Safety Shield 360. The 2024 Nissan Rogue Midnight Edition blacks out details and makes the crossover look more attractive. But, the equipment is pretty much the same as the SV.

The SL package can be called the premium. It costs $5,000 more than the SV. It will bring you a 360-degree camera, 19-inch wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, leather seats with a heated front row, and a power-adjustable passenger’s bucket. The driver’s seat gets memory settings. The Platinum grade adds cooling. Also, a 12.3-inch screen and Amazon Alexa are some of the top-notch equipment you can find in Nissan vehicles. HUD is still optional, as well as the heated rear row. Premium package is optional for SV and SL models.

2024 Nissan Rogue Nismo Rumors

There are no too many vehicles with this package in the US. But, there are plenty of rumors about almost every Nissan vehicle getting such an upgrade. The latest one is the 2024 Nissan Rogue Nismo. Well, AutoEvolution published some stories, so there might be some truth there. Still, the previous four-cylinder engine was downsized to an inline-3, and now someone is speaking about a V6 for the compact crossover.

It is unlikely to happen, since the Nismo package is there for two sports cars – Nissan 370z and GTR. Seeing crossovers and trucks with this upgrade would be awkward, although the Juke had it before being replaced with Kicks.

Pricing

The crossover costs a bit higher than the competition. Base models of Hyundai Tucson or Chevy Equinox could be purchased for $26,500. That is a $2k saving in starts compared to the 2024 Nissan Rogue. Still, you pay for the reliability and durability. The SV is a worthy upgrade for just $2,000. The SL is already making the vehicle expensive with a $35,000 price tag. Platinum version with an AWD hits $40,000 before you purchase additional options.
