The 2024 Lincoln Aviator remains the most powerful SUV in the lineup thanks to the PHEV configuration. The Grand Touring package enhances the outputs that are higher than the ones the Navigator is delivering. Well, we still expect the full-size luxury SUV to be enhanced with electric support and skyrocket performance. It is not needed only to maintain the position in the Lincoln lineup, but also in the market. Its largest rival, Cadillac Escalade, introduced the performance V Series package. Meanwhile, the Aviator is still one of the best buys in the mid-size three-row SUV class.
The latest generation of the vehicle was launched in 2020. So, we are approaching to the mid-cycle update. Since Ford Motor Company has a lot of other ongoing projects, the 2024 Lincoln Aviator is coming unchanged. The following edition should bring serious body and interior changes. Also, the PHEV system can take another step in the evolution and become the EV. So, for now, everything stays put.
Engines Configurations and Specs
The main powerplant for the 2024 Lincoln Aviator is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The mighty unit is good for 400 hp and 415 lb-ft. Ford lovers know if from some ST versions. The big SUV also returns nice gas mileage of 21 mpg combined. The power goes to the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The towing capacity of the Aviator SUV is 5,600 pounds. All-wheel drive is not going to improve that.
The 2024 Lincoln Aviator PHEV is combining the existing V6 with an electric motor. This configuration is available under the Grand Touring badge. The system is good for 494 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque. The SUV can also go by using only electric power. The range of this type of drive is 21 miles. The gas mileage is 23 mpg. Towing capacity is the same as with the standard setup.
All Electric Aviator
In the future, the EV is definitely under consideration. Well, all models are and Ford plans the electrification of the entire lineup by 2030. Well, it might not happen so soon, but at some point, electric vehicles will take over the market. However, experts are saying that diesel engines are history, but such powertrains still exist.
Anyway, the company wants to make something impressive with the Aviator EV. But, the current priorities are F-150 Lighting truck and Mach-E SUV. The Aviator won’t see any engine lineup upgrades before 2025.
2024 Lincoln Aviator Packages
Even the base version of the luxury SUV is very attractive. Well, the price tag of $55,000 indicates what to expect. Anyway, there is plenty of room for upgrades – body, cabin, or the engine room, which we already covered.
Standard offer includes 19-inch wheels, automatic LED headlights high-beam adjusting, rain-sensing wipers, a power liftgate, keyless ignition and push-button start, three-zone automatic climate control, and simulated leather upholstery. The infotainment system offers a 10-inch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto services, a Wi-Fi hotspot and a 10-speaker sound system. Optional packages are Premium and Elements.
The next stage of the upgrade is the 2024 Lincoln Aviator Reserve. With it, you are getting a hands-free liftgate, ambient lighting, an extra zone for climate control, leather upholstery, navigation and 4 more speakers. Elements Plus and Lincoln Co-Pilot360 Plus can enhance the experience. Also, Reserve I takes everything to the next level.
2024 Lincoln Aviator Black Label
The top of the range offer for the mid-size SUV is the Black Label package. Unique themes are available and it seems like the company is not going to revisit them before the next big redesign. The highlights of the 2024 Lincoln Aviator are 22-inch wheels, soft-close doors, and genuine leather upholstery. A few packages that are optional elsewhere are standard, like Elements Plus, Luxury and Co-Pilot360 1.5 Plus. Other unique upgrades are the Dynamic Handling package and rear-seat entertainment system. To spice things up, the company also offers premium maintenance with complimentary washes. Last year we saw the Special Edition Luxe package that won’t be carried over.
We recommend using the Grand Touring version with the Black Label SUV. The highlight is the PHEV engine with AWD system. Also, this model is downsizing wheels to 21 inches.
The base price of the 2024 Lincoln Aviator starts at $55,000. It is still approachable, having in mind this is a three-row luxury SUV. Still, the options make it significantly more expensive. For example, the Reserve trim is a $7,000 upgrade. Grand Touring with the PHEV engine hits $75k. Black Label will cost between $85,000 and $95,000 depending if you pick a standard twin-turbo engine or a powerful hybrid.
