A hybrid system is still there. A 2.5-liter petrol engine is under the hood and the total output is 245 hp. Experts suspected that the company is going to downpower the RX 450h from 310 horsepower, but that just happened. The RX 500 F Sport will have even more upgrades, including those for the suspension, braking, and overall look. Drive modes are available all across the lineup.
2024 Lexus RX 500h Performance
The new vehicle is already drawing a lot of attention. The company upgrades the lineup with the top-of-the-range version that combines a turbo-four engine with a hybrid system. The total is 366 horsepower for the fastest RX SUV in the lineup. Engineers are using a 2.4-liter mill as the base, and enhance its performances with electric motors. Besides that, they installed a new Direct4 all-wheel drive system. Furthermore, there is a six-speed transmission box to replace the CVT, available in the rest of the squad.
The upgrade is cool, but it doesn’t make the 2024 Lexus RX 500h F Sport Performance a sports SUV. Its rivals produced by German carmakers can do more power, sometimes above 500 hp. So, a 366 horsepower rating is not something breathtaking. But, a small enhancement in combination with F Sport package could do the job and draw more buyers. The MSRP of the new version sits at the top of the price list with a $58,000 tag.
When Will 2024 Lexus RX 350 Be Available?
The redesigned SUV should be available for purchase late in 2022. We still don’t know which models are coming in the first wave. We know that the 2024 Lexus RX 350, 450h hybrid, and 500 F Sport are going to be parts of the lineup for sure. But, the order of appearance is still unknown. Fans will have to wait for a few more months to find out the details.
The price of the upcoming luxury SUV goes up. The base model won’t be under $50,000. The performance edition could be priced around $70,000, making it competitive with the German luxury SUVs. The RX might drop the third row for good, making the room for the new project – the Lexus TX.
