The car is gone and it will be replaced by an SUV. However, it is very hard to predict what type of a crossover the 2024 Hyundai Accent is going to be. The company has a full lineup. There are Kona subcompact model, Tucson is the representative of compact class, and mid-size SUVs are Santa Fe (two-row) and Palisade (three-row). So, there is only room for a full-size model. So, the 2024 Hyundai Accent SUV should be a mini SUV. The size should be between 165 and 177 inches (length of Kona and Tucson). That is still considered as the subcompact class. Anyway, the Accent SUV takes all the advantages of a smaller body, including improved fuel economy and excellent agility. On the other hand, you can’t expect huge outputs and stunning performance on the open road.
The 2024 Accent will mix the styling solutions of its siblings. First, the SUV will carry over some of the recognizable solutions from the small sedan. But, those details won’t be big. As the subcompact SUV, the Accent is not going to offer plenty of room inside the cabin. But, there will be more space than before. Plus, there is more cargo room, which makes the crossover suitable for family trips.
Drivetrain and Specs
As a small crossover, the 2024 Hyundai Accent is not going to feature some powerful configuration. Since it is between Kona and Tucson, we expect the mini SUV to take one of the options from its siblings. For the subcompact vehicle, a 2.0-liter naturally-aspirated unit seems to be the best solution. It delivers 147 hp and 132 lb-ft. Also, a turbocharged 1.6-liter might be an option for optional setups. A 2.5-liter mill is under the hood of the Tucson, but it cracks 187 horsepower. It is unlikely that crossover is going to carry over a sluggish 1.6-liter engine with 120 ponies and 115 lb-ft.
Both Kona and Tucson are coming in the high-end N package. The Accent SUV won’t make this offer, at least not in the first edition. More likely is to see the subcompact crossover with an all-electric motor. In this case, the range should be above 250 miles.
2024 Hyundai Accent Release Date
The sedan is out from the market for the next season. We also know that the company is making room for the new crossover, and enthusiasts found relations between these two.
