The 2024 Cadillac Escalade is still a flagship model, despite the expansion of the XT- lineup. Some rumors were mentioning replacement, but bosses denied those speculations immediately. The current version is still pretty fresh. The company introduced the SUV in 2021 and the main upgrade for the current version is the Escalade V Series. The next move seems to be the EV.
The luxury SUV is powered with mighty V8 units. The base version gets a naturally-aspirated engine, while the 2024 Cadillac Escalade V is a turbocharged configuration with 682 hp. As the premium SUV, the price is not affordable to many fans. Plus, the reliability makes the resale value very high. Interesting, the company didn’t drop a diesel unit yet.
Specs: Petrol and Diesel Engines
The SUV will keep using a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. It provides enough power for the big and heavy vehicle. Agility and acceleration are not the best things about the Escalade. But, you can still haul more than 7,700 pounds with the luxury vehicle. A ten-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear axle by default, or both on buyer’s request.
The 2024 Escalade Diesel is still there. The company discontinued oil burners on some vehicles, focusing on the EV lineup. A 3.0-liter turbodiesel Duramax can provide 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of twist. It is enough to increase the towing capacity to 8,200 pounds. Also, this engine is more fuel-efficient. Petrol setup returns only 16 mpg, while the diesel comes with 23 mpg of combined driving.
2024 Cadillac Escalade V Series Model
The V badge is reserved for flagship models. Escalade is one of them, but it was not easy to create the perfect configuration for the big SUV. Engineers supercharged a 6.2-liter engine, which produces 682 hp for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade V Series model. It is one of the most powerful outputs in the SUV world. Nevertheless, it makes the price go up rapidly, so the MSRP starts above $160,000. Not only that Escalade V is one of the most powerful, but also the most expensive vehicles in the segment.
2024 Cadillac Escalade EV
We are surprised with the reappearance of the diesel engine, especially knowing that GM is all into EVs. Lyriq is already out, a few more trademarks are obtained, and the 2024 Cadillac Escalade electric concept debuted. Soon, it should hit the production and dealerships.
The luxury SUV will share the platform with the Chevrolet Silverado EV truck. Numbers are not final, but expect high-end range in the two- and tri-motor setups. One of the main issues is the price. The premium SUV is already too expensive for most buyers, plus the technology for electric vehicles is not cheap. Anyway, Cadillac will try to get the Escalade EV closer to the fans of zero-emission vehicles.
Escalade ESV Cargo Space
A long-wheelbase model is also available. Standard Escalade offers 25.5 cu.ft. behind the third row and 121 cubic-feet when all seats are folded. The Escalade ESV extends the body and provides more room inside the cabin. The cargo space is increased to 143 cu.ft. maximum. Even with all seats up, the SUV offers 41 cubic-feet of storage area.
