The 2024 Audi Q7 stays the biggest SUV in the lineup. The Q9 won’t happen in next couple of seasons, so the German carmaker is not testing the full-size market. The Q7 will soon finish the 10-year run and we can expect the new generation in 2025. Meanwhile, the 2024 YM stays the same. New packages are probable to refresh the offer, as well as fresh colors.
Under the hood is still a variety of engines, starting from a turbo-four, continuing with a turbo-six, and rounding the circle with a turbocharged V8. The Q7 is pretty competitive in the mid-size luxury SUV market. Main rivals are coming from Germany. Of course, those are BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE. Cool alternatives are Lincoln Aviator, Infiniti QX60, and Volvo XC90. The best-seller in this segment is the Lexus RX. With the debut of the new generation, the Japanese carmaker will stay a leader.
Entry-Level Model: Q7 45 TSFI
A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-banger is the engine for the base version of the 2024 Audi Q7. The configuration is called 45 TFSI and the 4-cylinder unit is producing 261 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. Outputs are not so bad, even for the mid-size SUV class. But, we expect more from a luxury model. An 8-speed automatic transmission is standard, and Audi uses the famous Quattro system right from the start to fix things up. The large SUV is pretty thirsty and small displacement can’t improve the mileage too much.
Mid-Range Engine: Turbocharged Inline-Six
A six-cylinder unit is more likely option buyers will pick for a mid-size SUV. A 3.0-liter turbocharged motor delivers 329 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. The configuration is called 2024 Audi Q7 55 TSFI. The vehicle accelerates 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds. Again, the same transmission and Quattro system are there. But, a larger engine can tow more than the 45 TSFI, limited to 4,400 pounds. The 55 TSFI increases the towing capacity to 7,700 pounds.
2024 Audi SQ7 and V8 Configuration
The SQ7 is one of the best performers in the market nowadays. The carmaker builds the setup around a 4.0-liter V8 engine and adds turbochargers to get 500 horsepower. The sport-tuned setup is also adding 568 lb-ft of torque. The 0-60 mph acceleration time drops to 4.2 seconds. Also, the mileage is very low. A V8 is very thirsty and the SQ7 returns only 17 mpg combined.
2024 Audi SQ7 Grades: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige
Let’s go through the highlights of available packages for the 2024 Audi Q7. Only the SQ7 is available with a V8 engine, a six-cylinder is available with three grades, including Prestige, while the Premium and Premium Plus are using a turbo-four as the base powerplant.
The Premium package comes with 19-inch alloy wheel, LED lamps, a panoramic roof, keyless entry, hands-free liftgate, multiple zone climate control, heated front buckets, and leather seats. Optionally, you can add Tech bundle with 10-speaker sound, dual-screen, wireless smartphone integration, and navigation. Also, the Convenience package will build up the base offer with heated steering wheel, wireless charger, and adaptive cruise control.
The Q7 Premium Plus uses all the previous features, plus illuminated doorsills and additional interior accents. B&O audio replaces the standard system, and larger wheels are there. Executive package is the only upgrade option. Highlights of this bundle are ambient interior lighting, ventilated front seats, rear sunshades, and an additional zone for climate control.
There is more. The 2024 Audi Q7 Prestige continues the build from here. Then, the company shows its best options, such as air suspension system, noise-isolating windows, HUD, soft-closing doors, and an automated parking system. Other accessories you can purchase separately are 22-inch wheels, a Luxury package for the Prestige grade, or laser headlights.
2024 Audi Q7 and SQ7 Price
An unchanged vehicle doesn’t mean there won’t be any change on the 2024 Audi Q7. The company might reshuffle some options and make the offer slightly refreshed. Anyway, that will be the reason to increase the price a bit. The base offer is currently just under $60k. Have in mind it comes with a turbo-four unit. Premium Plus costs $65,000 and Prestige is above $75,000. The SQ7 is a $90k SUV, or $95,000 if you opt for the Prestige package and the performance-tuned engine.
Nine color options are available for the Q7. Carrara White is standard, while all metallic paints are premium. These are Glacier White, Mythos Black, Navarra Blue, Samurai Gray, Satellite Silver, Tamarind Brown, Vicuna Beige and Waitomo Blue. Matador Red metallic and Daytona Gray pearl are the special colors for the SQ model. Interior themes are also unique for this SUV.
