A 2.0-liter engine is the main powertrain, either if you choose petrol or diesel configuration. The center of a PHEV system is a 1.5-liter mill. For the upcoming season, JLR will update the interior as well. The focus is on the infotainment system with improved Pivi Pro. All in all, the 2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport will still be one of the most versatile luxury crossovers you can find. Under the Hood
A 2.0-liter turbo-four engine is capable of producing 250 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. Compared to rivals we already mentioned, this is good for the entry-level fight. A diesel model is also available in certain markets. It is also a 2.0-liter turbocharged displacement. The oil burner is good for 165 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque. The D200 is a higher-output configuration. As its name suggests, the diesel engine can develop 200 ponies and 315 pound-feet of torque. In both cases, the automatic transmission sends power to wheels. The D200 setup is the mild-hybrid configuration.

A 1.5-liter inline-3 engine with turbochargers is the center of the plug-in hybrid model. Additionally, there is an 80 kWh battery that increases total outputs and improves performance. The P300e can deliver 300 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. The premium crossover can accelerate 0-60 mph in 6.6 seconds and the max speed is 210 mph. Engineers are working on improvements of the gas mileage. Towing capacity drops from 6,000 pounds to 4,000 lbs compared to the standard setup.
In the future, we can expect a fully electric crossover by the Land Rover. Jaguar is already out with the E-Pace. We read rumors about another model but in the premium Range Rover lineup. Nevertheless, the Discovery Sport is one of the best options for further electrification.
Pricing Updates
The price of the 2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport will depend on all the options the premium crossover is about to offer. But, it is still a luxury model and doesn’t expect a bargain. The base version is priced at $43,000 and the MSRP jumps if you select some of the upper trim levels. The current version offers R-Dynamic, SE, or the combination of those two. The PHEV system will definitely be the most expensive version, exceeding $50,000. A similar model is offered in the Range Rover lineup – Evoque. The company is still preparing the new version of the compact crossover. Both price and release date depend on the level of changes we’ll see on the 2023 Land Rover Discovery Sport.
