Infiniti is going strong into the new season. The focus is on the all-new QX80 full-size SUV built on the Monograph concept. Pieces of the platform are available on the mid-size QX60. But, the company is not going to forget the 2023 Infiniti QX50. Compact crossovers are the best-sellers. Frequent changes make potential buyers on alert. The upcoming QX50 comes with significant changes. The second generation debuted in 2017 and ever since the carmaker didn’t come back to the compact SUV for a bigger update. In the meantime, Infiniti launched the QX55 coupe crossover, based on its close sibling.

The company hasn’t precised details yet. Insiders are confirming that development is ongoing. Engineers have enough time and space since QX60 and QX55 are out, and QX80 is ready for its debut. The compact crossover is borrowing solutions from all those vehicles to make a unique combination of styling solutions and features. The 2023 Infiniti QX50 is a luxury vehicle, so expect everything to be at a higher level, including the price and engine. A few changes could make the performance one of the highlights of this vehicle.

Mid-Cycle Redesign Changes

It is time for an update. The pandemic slowed down the development of the new vehicle, but it is finally out. The front fascia will be similar to the new coupe crossover, the QX55. On the other hand, the rear end can’t be compared. The 2023 Infiniti QX50 will offer more space for passengers in the back row. You are also getting extra cargo space. Nevertheless, it is still very limited. The QX60 is a way better option for storage. Also, there will be new exterior packages, details, and wheels to complete the redesign.

2023 Infiniti QX50 Interior

Like outside, the interior of the 2023 Infiniti QX50 will be under the revisit. This is a two-row crossover with a focus on comfort and safety. Well, the company fulfilled tasks and the upcoming crossover needs to maintain the level of convenience to stay competitive.

Designers will be focused on the dashboard. Making it easier to use is the first goal. Then, we’ll see a small update of the infotainment system. Reshuffling the options brings a lot more to the base trims. The company is still working on the self-driving system, so the 2023 YM is not likely to introduce new technology. Nevertheless, the ProPilot package is pretty advanced compared to the competition.

Under the Hood

A 2.0-liter turbo engine is able to deliver 270 hp and it makes the QX50 special already. We don’t think engineers are going to change the configuration. Besides the power, an I4 mill is also very efficient. Combined to a CVT gearbox, it returns 23/29 mpg. The all-wheel drive consumes slightly more fuel than FWD. it is optional in most cases unless you select the top of the range versions. Acceleration is also nice, thanks to 280 pound-feet of torque.

2023 Infiniti QX50 Hybrid Debut

The 2023 Infiniti QX50 hybrid would be an upgrade that will shake the compact crossover class. Its close sibling, Nissan Rogue, is already available with such a setup. However, the QX50 is focused on power, and the hybrid engine Nissan is using can’t meet demands. But, if the vehicle comes out with improved gas mileage, it will definitely be a great option for many fans and potential buyers. The crossover consumes more fuel than a standard small SUV. Power makes it up. But, the QX50 with at least 35 mpg can make a huge difference. Since we are paying at least $40k for the ride, we could save a bit on the gas, especially now when its cost went through the roof.

Packages: Pure, Luxe, Essential, Sensory, Autograph

We’ll see what packages the upcoming QX50 is going to keep. The current edition comes in five versions, more than any other SUV in the family. It misses the Monograph features, which are reserved for larger vehicles. Anyway, the crossover brought the Autograph trim, with standard AWD and many other high-end features. Nevertheless, it is under the question mark, but we believe it can be kept as the trademark version of the 2023 Infiniti QX50. The Pure remains the entry-level option. Luxe is probably remaining a part of the lineup, while Essential and Sensory might be dropped.

When Will 2023 Infiniti QX50 Be Available?

The debut of the 2023 Infiniti QX50 is expected late this year. Before the compact crossover hits dealerships, fans of the full-size QX80 will see their favorite model. It leaves more time for designers and engineers to develop a perfect configuration. They will need it, especially if the hybrid model is in plans.

The competition in the compact luxury crossover segment is very tough. From Japanese carmakers, Acura RDX and Lexus NX are the main rivals. Then, there are domestic vehicles – Lincoln Corsair and Cadillac XT5. Of course, let’s not forget European representatives – Volvo XC60, BMW X3, Audi Q5 and Mercedes GLC.
