2023 Audi Q7 Changes, Specs, Prices

Although Q8 is the new member of the lineup, and Audi plans to add the Q9, the Q7 is still one of the most interesting models to buyers. The SUV was redesigned in 2020 and the carmaker is not going to make some significant moves on the 2023 Audi Q7.

Wide offer of engines is one of the strongest side of the large SUV. A four-pot unit is there for the entry-level model, and a 2.0-liter displacement also serves as the main source of power for the E-Tron. Then, there are six-pot mills, both in diesel and petrol variants. Finally, the largest drivetrains are using eight cylinders as the SQ7 models.

As the luxury SUV, the 2023 Audi Q7 will be full of premium and advanced features. The highlight is definitely the safety. The infotainment system is at the same level as the MBUX by Mercedes. Nevertheless, BMW is also preparing something special for their next-gen vehicles. It will make other German carmakers push forward and make even better offers.

Powertrains and Performance

Let’s talk first about the US version of the 2023 Audi Q7. A 2.0-liter inline-four is turbocharged and produces 248 horsepower. The large SUV is not taking advantage from the small block and consumes a lot of gas, no matter which version buyers pick. If that is a turbo-four, combined mileage is 21 mpg. The good thing is that four-wheel drive is standard. An eight-speed auto gearbox is a power router for all engines. In a combination with a four-cylinder mill, the system is good to tow 4,400 pounds.

The capacity goes up to 7,700 pounds if you opt for a 3.0-liter V6. Other numbers are jumping too. Power output is 330 hp and torque 325 lb-ft. Gas mileage goes down, as you can guess. Again, AWD is standard on the 2023 Audi Q7 55 TSFI and consumes 17/21 mpg.

Outside the US, we can find a few diesel configurations. Those are not coming overseas, especially after a huge scandal with emission reports. A 3.0-liter engine is delivering 230 hp after the latest redesign. In its performance-tuned version, the output jumps to 285 ponies and 445 lb-ft. If you combine the turbodiesel mill with an electric drivetrain, the SUV can produce 390 horsepower and 515 lb-ft of twist.

2023 Audi SQ7 and Q7 E-Tron

The SQ7 is the performance version of the mid-size luxury SUV. In the US market, this vehicle is using a big 4.0-liter petrol displacement. The twin-turbo system enhances outputs to 500 horsepower. Although impressive, that is still not good enough to be at the same level as BMW X5M and Mercedes AMG GLE. Both rivals are already above 600 hp. Additionally, there are 570 lb-ft of torque. The same badge in Europe is coming with a turbodiesel V8. Again, a 4.0-liter displacement is cracking less power (440 hp), but more torque (665 lb-ft compared to 570 pound-feet). When you convert those outputs to acceleration, a petrol SQ7 can sprint 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, which is 0.5 sec faster than the diesel variant.

Prices

Besides engines, buyers can choose among equipment packages. But, this all depends on the market. Also, this is the best way to update the offer. Reshuffling features off trim levels is certain. Plus, you can bet there will be new paintjobs in the palette. There are already more than 10 options. Wheels design and interior features will be updated, but it doesn’t change the overall look.

The base price of the 2023 Audi Q7 stays put. The MSRP starts at $55,000 for the 45 TSFI. Premium Plus package adds $2,300 in features, while the larger V6 engine is a $7,000 upgrade. The Prestige model is the expensive offer, and the price tag of $72,000 indicates what to expect from this one. Still, the SQ7 tops that with the MSRP above $85,000. In Europe, luxury cars are more expensive. A good example is the SQ7 TDI, whose price is above $150,000, converted from euros.
