Nautilus is one of the youngest members of the Lincoln lineup. Debuted in 2019, it seems that in 2022 would be too early for the redesign. The company made a few changes for the 2021 YM. However, the next 2022 Lincoln Nautilus is about to get something to draw attention. This is the two-row mid-size luxury SUV. Models with higher seating capacity are being more popular. However, Nautilus will have its advantages. A lighter body will make the SUV more agile and efficient. So, if you need more space, you can always spend extra and purchase the Aviator.

One of the things that make us wonder is the lack of a hybrid setup. The abovementioned Aviator is upgraded last season and now we can find a monster PHEV configuration with nearly 500 hp under the hood. The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid will probably go with the lighter setup. Or, there won’t be such an edition and the carmaker is going to launch the Mark E, the all-electric SUV based on the Nautilus.

Besides the powertrain squad update, we don’t expect a big cosmetic facelift for the upcoming SUV. There are no too many competitors in the 2-row segment and the Nautilus is still pretty fresh. As for the 2021 season, the US carmaker will make a few changes to enhance safety, comfort, and convenience.

2022 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid

A few years ago, bosses promised that every nameplate in its lineup is going to offer a hybrid or the EV drivetrain. It might seem funny in 2017 or 2018, when there were no such vehicles in the squad. But, look at now – Escape Hybrid is the most efficient compact crossover with 44 mpg; Mach E is an all-electric zero-emission SUV, and premium Lincoln Aviator can produce 494 horsepower. You can be sure that one by one, every other model will be electrified, sooner or later.

So, what are the chances to see the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid? Well, it is hard to say at this moment. The vehicle was on the ‘TO DO’ list, but the COVID-19 outburst changed plans, not only for Ford and Lincoln but in the entire automotive industry. The interest might be revived in the second half of 2021.

Lincoln Mark E – Nautilus-Based EV

This is not a surprise. Still, the US company is keeping most of the information as a top secret. The Mark E is the sibling to Ford Mach E, carmakers firs EV SUV. Also, it will compete against Cadillac Lyriq. The vehicle is probably going to have the most similarities with the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus, but there are other sources claiming that Ford will make a partnership with Rivian. The R1S is one of the most anticipated SUV in the electric class. So, it will be interesting to see the mixture of two philosophies in the real world. Still, the EV is not going to be available so soon. The production might start late in 2022 and the SUV will come out as 2023 YM.

Which 2022 Lincoln Nautilus is the Best for You?

With minor changes on the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus, we can count on the same lineup of trim levels. Standard and Reserve models are what this SUV is going to offer, while the Black Label is the class for itself. The base package includes synthetic leather seats, a power tailgate, and 18-inch wheels. Still, you can increase the size to 21 inches. The Co-Pilot360 safety bundle is standard, as well as the 12-inch infotainment display.

The 2022 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve is going to add heated and ventilated front buckets, a hands-free function for the tailgate, and larger wheels. The panoramic sunroof is drawing a lot of attention. The infotainment system gets a boost from 13-speaker audio by Revel. Optionally, you can add massaging front seats with the Ultra-Comfort package.

Black Label Themes

Like every Lincoln, this mid-size SUV will get special treatment through the Black Label trim. A V6 is standard here and the drivetrain system is tuned for a sportier ride. Revel adds more speakers for the surround sound. Nevertheless, the most impressive thing about the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus Black Label is its thematic interior. Chalet, Gala and Thoroughbred remain the layouts for the special edition of the SUV. Well, the price might be a dealbreaker here, with the Black Label package being available from $55,000.

Release Date and Prices

Still, the entry-level version of the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus is not going to cost more than $42,000. The Reserve model will be just under $50,000 and a hybrid should be at the same level. As said, the Black Label adds at least $15k, and with some options, the price goes up through the roof. More details about the SUV and its upgrades will be known in the second half of 2021. Currently, the main goal is upgrading Navigator and making a hybrid truck. Redesigning the Nautilus comes soon after that.
