2022 Lexus RX 350: What We Know About the Redesign?

1610 0

Lexus is one of the hottest brands across the entire luxury SUV segment. The RX is the leader in sales and it can be competitive against some non-premium models. It is not a surprise, having in mind how versatile the SUV is. The 2022 Lexus RX 350 might be redesigned, to fend off the competition. The vehicle is already one of the best-looking and safest models in the market. After the redesign, the RX will cement its place as the #1 SUV in the luxury class.

Besides the standard V6 powerplant, engineers also developed a hybrid configuration. The question is – will Toyota make the same move like for the Highlander? It is hard to say with official sources being quiet over any future moves. It is understandable since the Japanese company wants to hide cards from the competition. A fully-electric SUV is also an option. Lexus already started the process with the UX300e.

The new look will draw attention. The 2022 Lexus RX 350 will keep most of the options that made its predecessors so cool. The base version is a five-seater, while the model you find with the RX350L is a three-row version. A V6 serves as the powertrain for the standard setup and also a hybrid system. The F Sport is a package that will make the SUV more aggressive, but it doesn’t upgrade the performance.

By default, the 2022 Lexus RX 350 will be a two-row model. This version will maximize the space for passengers. It leaves 18 cubic feet behind the rear row. The 2022 Lexus RX 350L will add about 5 inches of total length. It will be enough to fit another row of seats and two more spots. On the other hand, the space behind them won’t be bigger. However, it will add you an option to fold the third row and get about 24 cu.ft. With all seats down, the cargo space increases to nearly 60 cubic feet.

RX 450h Hybrid SUV

A 3.5-liter V6 is a standard configuration for the RX. The new model will continue to use it and get 395 horsepower. The extended L version is reducing five ponies. Eight-speed auto transmission is sending power to front wheels, or all four corners of the vehicle. Gas mileage was one of the best things on the mid-size luxury SUV. However, if you are looking for more power, then the 2022 Lexus RX 350 is not going to offer a high-performance version to get on the line with German manufacturers.

On the other hand, BMW, Audi, and Mercedes are still trying to find a way to get closer to 30 mpg. The 2022 Lexus RX 450h is one of the rare units in the luxury class that can achieve so many miles per gallon. Also, a hybrid configuration increases total power to 310 hp. Still, there is always room for improvement. In the non-premium Toyota lineup, we find the Highlander, the SUV that sacrificed 60 hp in its latest hybrid. On the other hand, the gas mileage jumped to 35 mpg. This is the result you will hardly meet even in the compact crossover class. On the other hand, the RX already lacks some power, so it is questionable if the company wants to downgrade the mid-size luxury SUV even further. Buyers who look for better gas mileage won’t check out the luxury or a mid-size class.

2022 Lexus RX 350 F Sport Package Comes in New Colors

The most attractive model in the lineup will be the 2022 Lexus RX 350 F Sport. Standard edition is already very aggressive thanks to the unique build of grille, spoilers, bumpers, and headlights. The styling goes to another dimension when you upgrade the SUV with the F Sport features. New parts leave breathless even the most stubborn fans. It is time for an update and new accessories are awaited eagerly. We believe new paintjob options and grille design would be enough for the redesign in 2022. Of course, Lexus has the final word and we will see how far bosses are ready to go. The good thing is that the F Sport package will also be available for a hybrid configuration, as well as for a seven-seater SUV.

2022 Lexus RX 350 Release Date and Price

A low MSRP is another reason why many buyers are buying the RX. After the redesign, the price will go up a bit, but it will stay under $50,000, at least for the entry-level model. A lack of high-performance motors makes upgrades pretty affordable. So, a fully-loaded 2022 Lexus RX 350 is not going to exceed $60,000. There, you will get an all-wheel drive and F Sport, or eventually a hybrid setup and two extra seats.
