The future of the 2022 Lexus LX 570 is uncertain. The LQ concept and registration of the LX 600 nameplate make us wondering what is the company up to. For now, there is no official statement. It is time for changes. The SUV is in the market for more than 10 years with the same styling. No matter how good it was and still is, it is not acceptable for the luxury model. The interior needs an overhaul. Sales are the best indicator of what fans think of the LX. Alongside the Toyota Land Cruiser, this is the slowest-selling full-size luxury SUV in the past two years.

That is why we expect big things from the lineup. Soon. The next-gen LX might not be here for 2022. But, the LX600 based on the LQ platform is on the way with the new styling. Meanwhile, Lexus’ owner Toyota is thinking of discontinuing the Land Cruiser! Instead of getting the new Series 300, fans in the United States will get the next-gen LX as the replacement. Still, the LC will be available in the rest of the world.

2022 Lexus LX 570 Rumors: Everything is Still Quiet

The 2022 Lexus LX 570 will probably be unchanged. The all-new vehicle is due for 2023. It will probably be the LX 600. Another option is that this one is going to be the performance version with 600 horsepower. The rumors are swirling the twin-turbo V6 is the replacement for the V8. On the other hand, nothing is confirmed yet, but the nomenclature is causing a lot of speculations. With the upcoming updates, there is a lot more to expect from the large luxury SUV.

Specs

Like said, the nomenclature is indicating something. The 2022 Lexus LX 570 will be powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine. Well, most full-size SUVs are taking an eight-cylinder unit as the base solution. So, the LX 600 is showing either the size of the powerplant or its outputs. Other Lexus crossovers and SUVs are using the same recipe. GX 460 is there with a 4.6-liter mill, RX 350 – you guess 3.5-liter… So, all in all, the new model, which by the way, is not registered yet, will get massive unit or ponderous outputs.

Until this happens, the 5.7-liter is in charge with 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This is the biggest mill for all Toyotas, including the premium Lexus branch. It is also a reliable and very capable engine. It allows the SUV to combine luxury and utility. Off-road performance is hard to match without special equipment. Engineers are pairing the V8 unit with an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to a full-time 4×4 system.

The company could combine a 3.5-liter V6 engine with a twin-turbo setup to maximize outputs and reach a possible 600 hp. This is definitely not the base configuration. Instead, sources are reporting about the 3.4-liter turbo unit and its 415 hp. This is more likely to happen and the amount of power fits the full-size class. If you need more, German carmakers are leaders in the segment, with mighty V8s and more than 500 ponies under the hood.

2022 Lexus LX 570 Versions

This is another reason why Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX are not so popular. The only possible choice is between two and three-row models. The LC doesn’t offer even one additional option. Anyhow, the 2022 Lexus LX 570 will be nicely equipped, but the next-gen LX 600 is surely going to update the trim levels, especially the high-performance version. Advanced features are already there to make the LX pretty luxurious.

Release Date and Price

Unchanged 2022 Lexus LX 570 will appear in the second half of the year, leaving more time for the next-gen LX 600. This one will cause more attention. The MSRP stays put, since there is no room to become more expensive, starting at $87,000.
