No other Hyundai’s product is as popular in the US as the Tucson. The company took advantage of the break caused by the COVID-19 outburst, skipped major changes for the 2021 YM, and speeded up the development of the following model. So, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is coming as the all-new, with a hybrid engine, slightly larger dimensions, fresh colors, and the ultimate N package. So, the crossover will deliver everything a driver of a modern vehicle is going to demand.

Hyundai is making big progress. Tucson was one of the pioneers and the vehicle that made the Korean company recognizable. Soon, the manufacturer started to expand its network in the US. A larger Santa FE SUV was also noticed and accepted by buyers. Besides the all-new 2022 Hyundai Tucson, there are several other projects that will hit production soon. Palisade is now the flagship SUV. The carmaker recently introduced its premium branch, Genesis, and their first luxury SUV, GV80. Their lineup is going to grow. But, before we see GV60 or GV70, the Santa Cruz truck will become the crown jewel in the squad.

The new Tucson is already available for analysis. Official page is showing eight trim levels and a lot of fresh options for the fans of the crossover. Hybrid and PHEV systems are available with Blue and Limited packages, while the standard lineup includes SE, SEL, Limited and N Line. Do not mix it with the 2022 Hyundai Tucson N, which will be the performance-oriented crossover.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid MPG

We will pay the most attention to a couple of new powerplants in the lineup. For some while, experts were talking about the upcoming hybrid systems. But, Hyundai didn’t want to make it official. The company is good in keeping secrets. Palisade SUV also debuted with the new powertrain.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid will be getting power from a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, which is paired with electric motors. This combo is good for 226 hp. Besides that, the setup delivers a lot of torque. The company is not announcing the gas mileage numbers for its hybrid crossover. But, to be competitive, Tucson will have to get close to 40 mpg. A plug-in system is another stunning move. In this case, drivers can go 28 miles by using only the electric source of power. The standard powertrain is a 2.5-liter four-pot with slightly improved outputs.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Tucson N

The N Line is a new package. According to the official site, it will sit between Limited and SEL versions. So, that is not the performance-oriented N model which adds 100 hp over the base configuration. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson N was tested two years ago and experts believed that the previous version could appear with the exclusive package. The highlight is definitely a mighty engine that should deliver more than 300 hp. A 2.5-liter unit with turbochargers will be able to achieve such power.

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson N would need other parts tuned to keep the speed under control. Special suspension and spoilers should do the job. The package will also include unique body upgrades. It will start with a hood, grille and rims, and finish inside the cockpit, with sports seats and steering wheel, alongside advanced multimedia and safety features.

Dimensions and Colors

The 2022 Hyundai Tucson will stay in the compact class. The carmaker has the lineup nearly complete, missing only the full-size model. Dimensions of the new version will be slightly longer than its predecessor. The overall length is now 177 inches, nearly 1 inch more than before. The upcoming crossover is also wider and taller. But, none dimension was increased for more than 0.8 in.

New colors are also available for the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. For the base SE version, there are seven choices: Intense Blue, Quartz White, Shimmering Silver, Portofino Gray, Calypso Red, Phantom Black, and Amazon Gray. Inside could be black or gray. Cloth turns into leather for Limited edition. N Line comes in unique colors: Ash Black, Titan Gray, White Pearl, and Red Crimson. Blue Hybrid combines some of the previously mentioned paintjobs and adds a blue tint called Deep Sea.

  1. Just purchased the new 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited in Quartz White to replace my 2018 Tucson SEL Plus in Black Noir Pearl. I am loving this updated version so far. The ride, the exterior and interior design elements as well as the amenities are top notch. The new length is only two inches shorter than my 2007 Santa Fe Limited and the width is only one inch narrower than the Santa Fe was. This vehicle is definitely an eye-catcher from any angle. I have been a Hyundai fan since I purchased my first Hyundai, a 2002 Sonata GLS. I finally convinced my wife that Hyundai was the way to go and she went with a 2020 Hyundai Elantra GT and loves it.
