The current generation of the Cayenne mid-size luxury SUV arrived last season. But, it doesn’t stop the German carmaker from developing new models. The latest addition to the lineup will be the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT with outputs and features that no other version is offering. This model will be ready to compete with the hottest SUVs in the segment, including Range Rover Sport and Mercedes AMG GLS.

Test mules are on the streets. Porsche is trying to hide as much as can, but fans can spot some interesting details unveiling this is the new version. The most notable one in the position of exhaust pipes. Well, the rest of the lineup remains unchanged. The first choice you will have to make is if you go with the standard look, or the 2021 Porsche Cayenne Coupe suits you better. After that, the options are the same – five trim levels, each one coming with the special engine tuning and exterior/interior packages.

2021 Porsche Cayenne Spy Photos and New Version

There are five different versions of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne available at the moment. However, the sports SUV is not taking a break in development. The latest spy photos are showing the mid-size model under the camo. It drew attention – why would Porsche hide anything on the all-new model? The reason is the new package.

Then, the closer look unveils a couple of things we can’t see in the lineup. Pipes are closer to the license plate, which is characteristic of Turbo GT models. So, this detail unveils Porsche’s plans. What we can’t know is what lays under that camo. Some experts predict that 2021 Porsche Cayenne could go wild with the upgrade of the E-Hybrid system, currently the most powerful unit in the lineup. According to some rumors, this version could go up to 800 hp (according to TopSpeed), making it the most powerful SUV in the USA (currently on #3 – check out the entire list of 10 Most Powerful SUVs in 2020).

2021 Porsche Cayenne vs Cayenne Coupe

Both versions will offer the same options. Still, the body style might attract some buyers. Coupe is a sportier edition, with slight differences inside the cockpit. Well, the first one is a lack of space in the second row thanks to the sloping roof. This version will make it up with sportier seats and a couple of extra options. Well, the packages are the same and there are also small differences if fuel economy, since Cayenne Coupe comes with a more aerodynamic shape.

Base SUV

The standard configuration comes with not-so-special outputs. The situation gets serious at higher trim levels, but the base model is offering ‘only’ 335 horsepower. A 3.0-liter V6 is also producing 320 lb-ft of torque. Apple CarPlay is standard, and SUV doesn’t offer Android Auto services. Still, there are navigation and a 12-inch display at the center of the dashboard.

Cayenne S

Moving on up through the hierarchy of the trim levels we are getting to the S package. The highlight of this model is definitely a 100-ponies boost with a 2.9-l twin-turbo engine. The Cayenne S also reaches 400 lb-ft of torque. The appearance of the SUV is more impressive thanks to the panoramic sunroof and large 19-inch wheels.

2021 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid Specs

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid brings back a 3.0-liter engine and enhances it with an electric motor. Now, this unit is ready to burst 455 hp. Plus, additional upgrades include Porsche Active Suspension Management and a unique interior. If you want more, check out the Sport Chrono Package which will maximize the performance of the hybrid system.

Turbo and Turbo S E-Hybrid

The 2021 Porsche Cayenne Turbo would be the best performer in the lineup if there is no hybrid system. A 4.0-liter V8 engine is launching the SUV to produce 540 hp and 570 lb-ft of twist. Converted to a 0-60 mph sprint, that power takes only 3.2 seconds. Air suspension and 21-inch wheels help this model achieve that. Plus, Porsche brings a premium Bose audio to boost the overall impression.

But, nothing does it better than the Turbo S E-Hybrid. All-in-one package takes everything to another level. The system makes the Cayenne the third most powerful SUV in the USA with 670 hp. The special configuration is required, so the bundle also includes a torque vectoring system, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a power-adjustable steering column.

2021 Porsche Cayenne Prices

The base price of the 2021 Porsche Cayenne is just under $70,000 mark, which is pretty high for the mid-size model. Well, going after such a vehicle won’t stop you at the entry-level version. Upgrades are very expensive, and the SUV reaches a six-digit price very easily. The E-Hybrid Turbo S costs nearly $100,000 more than the standard Cayenne. And then, we expect the pricing of the Turbo GT. If this model reaches 800 hp, we won’t see it under $200,000, where Range Rover SVR Autobiography, Bentley Bentayga, and Rolls-Royce Cullinan are already.
